No. Marijuana and hemp are BOTH cannabis plants. However, whereas marijuana contains 15 - 40% of the psychoactive cannabinoid THC, hemp has a very minimal concentration - 0.3% or less - of THC. As a result, marijuana can make you high, but hemp can’t.
Ten years ago, CBD was virtually unheard of. However, since the Hemp Farming Act Bill was passed in December 2018, farmers can now legally grow industrial hemp (a meeting that ceiling of 0.3% THC). That bill also opened the door to making CBD derived from industrial hemp legal in all 50 United States because it removed hemp from the DEA’s (Drug Enforcement Agency’s) list of controlled substances.
In many ways, wellness teas and CBD are a natural fit. Both tea and CBD have reputed health benefits, although tea has been researched for thousands of years, and CBD only very recently. As a functional tea, an evening CBD tea could replace alcohol for stress relief and relaxation. It could enhance a calming ritual to help prepare the mind and body for a restful night’s sleep, relax the body and quiet the mind in preparation for sleep, without the consequences of alcohol consumption. And on a traditional medicine note, they have both been used for hundreds of years as holistic wellness solutions. As legend has it, both tea and cannabis were discovered and touted by the Chinese emperor Shen Nong in the 3rd millennium BCE.
CBD tea is a blend of cannabidiol and herbs and/or tea leaves. Both hemp and marijuana are part of the family of plants called cannabis. Cannabis plants boast about 100 different chemicals called cannabinoids. Hemp plants contain high levels of the chemical CBD, which is non-psychoactive. Our teas are a CBD product that offers the consumer the benefits of tea. Though many such teas combine hemp oil extracted from the plant, our teas do not contain hemp oil but instead use a water-soluble, bioavailable form. Because oil and water don’t mix, CBD oil-based teas cannot extract in hot water. We incorporate a broad spectrum, water-soluble powder into our teas that allows the CBD in the tea actually to be delivered. With optimum bioavailability and maximum absorption, our 100% THC-free CBD teas provide important benefits.
CBD has a plethora of widely known benefits, and when paired with herbs that boast similar health-promoting properties, the combination is very effective. We have formulated our teas to marry the health benefits of herbs and CBD.
Enjoy multiple cups of our various blends throughout the day. However, cannabidiol is known to absorb best with a little dietary fat, so it is best to enjoy your CBD Buddha Teas with, or just after, a meal or snack that contains some fat. If you prefer to drink our CBD Matcha, you may want to avoid consuming too close to bedtime, as green tea does contain caffeine.
Our teas have been produced and tested to ensure they contain ZERO THC. Though some states allow CBD products to be sold that contain less than .03% THC, our teas are guaranteed not to have any.
CBD teas currently on the market generally use 5 -10 mg, which is considered a low or “micro” dose of CBD. They are made either with decarboxylated CBD hemp or with CBD isolate powder. The goal of isolates is to make the CBD more water-soluble and more bioavailable, and effective. CBD has increased effectiveness when ingested along with a fat, so suggesting the addition of some fat, like coconut oil, to the infused tea is what some manufacturers of CBD tea are doing. The CBD molecule doesn't like water and has a better chance of making its way into the body’s receptors for cannabinoids if it is bonded to a fat molecule
Cannabidiol (CBD) is the non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis plants. Cannabinoids are the active ingredients found uniquely in cannabis. While THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid, CBD is not. Formulating the right blend of CBD with tea, herbs, roots, flowers, and other botanicals creates the perfect marriage of plant-based elixirs to help ease a customer into the ideal state.
Cannabidiol, or CBD as it is known, is most often used by people dealing with anxiety, aches, stress, and insomnia. Studies show that CBD helps people relax for a better night's sleep and may even offer relief from chronic pain.
